Kazuo Yoshida (吉田 カズオ, Yoshida Kazuo) is a ghoul who Kaneki met in a dark alley and moments later was killed by Nishiki Nishio, since he was feeding on his turf. He also appeared in omake at the end of some volumes and worked as Chief Instructor in the Fitness Club "ZEN".

Personality
His personality seems to differ between the manga and the anime: In the manga, he seems very "possessive" with his victims, cursing and threatening to kill Kaneki if he didn't leave him to enjoy his meal. In the anime, he seems polite, asking if Kaneki is feeling alright, and (as he claims he didn't eat for a while) is able to sympathize with Kaneki, going far enough to offer a small portion of his victim to the boy.
Plot
In the manga, Kazuo was enjoying his meal in a dark alley as Ken Kaneki, who was following the scent of human flesh, ran into him. As he was perplexed by Kaneki's sudden breakdown, he quickly claimed ownership of the corpse and threatened to kill Kaneki unless he left this instant. Suddenly, Nishiki Nishio showed up and killed him with a heavy kick to the head.[3] anime and Manga Differences
In the anime, instead of threatening to kill Kaneki, Kazuo politely offers a small portion of his meat, before being killed by Nishiki.

Trivia
- At the end of Volume 2, there is a parody scene of chapter 16 where Kazuo is present, where Touka is surprised to see him alive, as he is canonically dead by this scene.
- At the end of Volume 3, Kazuo was enjoying his bath in hell together with Kie Muramatsu and Oumi. Their peaceful bath was disturbed when Kureo Mado entered.
- At the end of Volume 4, during Uta and Renji's first meeting: a ghoul in the background can be seen wearing a hoodie which reads Kazu O'. The ghoul wearing this hoodie may be a younger Kazuo.
- At the end of Volume 5, Kazuo was shown photographing Tsukiyama and showering him with praise, before Kaneki walked in the room.
- In Tokyo Ghoul Trump, he's featured as the "Five of Spades".
- In a Twitter conversation when a fan asked Ishida if he looked similar to Arima he replied that he actually looked more like Kazuo.
