Summary[]
At the 20th ward's branch office, Taishi Fura calls Koutarou Amon to tell him about the Rabbit and the ghouls current movements. Akira Mado helps Amon analyze Black Rabbit's case.
Hideyoshi Nagachika barges in with lunch for the both of them. Akira asks for Hide's opinion on the rabbit case. Hide states that they can come to a conclusion by comparing the kagune traces, however, he believes that there are two different ghouls. Hide came to a conclusion that last year's murders were committed on behalf of the daughter ghoul as a proxy for vengeance. Akira remarks Hide's interest in ghouls, to which Hide answers that ghouls are always on the news, so he would be interested even if he hated it.
Yukinori Shinohara and Juuzou Suzuya walk in to bring new data on the Binge Eater case. After searching everywhere for traces that the Binge Eater might have left, Shinohara discovered that there was an accident involving falling I-beams on the same October as the Binge Eater's murders. Amon recalls that a doctor got heavily criticized for performing a transplant without the consent of the girl's family. Shinohara adds that the doctor who performed the surgery was Dr. Kanou, a former CCG coroner. They attempted to contact Dr. Kanou only to learn that his whereabouts are unknown. The boy who received the transplant was a student at Kami University, Ken Kaneki. They inquired to Kami about Kaneki to learn that he has not visited the school in months. Shinohara suggests that the woman could be the binge eater. Hide states that he recognizes Kaneki as his close friend.
On a rooftop, Kaneki, Kazuichi Banjou, Shuu Tsukiyama, and the Gas Masks wait for Taguchi to appear. Just as they spot her, Naki and the White Suits ambush her. They end up knocking her out before they could ask her anything. Kaneki confronts the White Suits before they could take Taguchi with them. Matasaka Kamishiro abruptly attacks Kaneki during his confrontation with Naki.
